Beta is good, Beta be goood

Ever since google introduce Gmail beta mail services for free with 2GB of disk space, everyone is jumping onto the wagon! Micro$ introduce Window Live Mail Beta with 2GB of space, a great leap from 250mb and now Yahoo launch Yahoo Mail Beta ( really nice interface)

Window Live Mail Beta: YEAH! Extra space is great but the interface is really annoying! Just the banner on the top took 1/3 of the browser cluttering the rest of the information, producing a very restricted feeling!(especially for people with small monitor screen) To make things worse, sometimes it doesn't allow user to read the bottom of the email as the vertical scroll bar is missing, hiding the rest of the mail from user. Luckily it allows the user to switch back to the old version, I strongly urge user to switch back to the old version until a better interface design is created or maybe they have no intention at all...

Yahoo! Mail Beta: A similar interface to Micro$ but they space out their boxes in such a way that user can easily get to their intended location. They have some interesting shortcut and are capable of creating tabs which are similar to Firefox browser. Best of all, they even have a mini tutorial teaching the basic usage and navigation of the new mail interface when you switch to the beta version for the first time. The con side is their advertisement, not a single white space is wasted! The intuitive placement of advertisement merge perfectly with the email interface, even though it don't really bother me, the extra advertising banner means extra loading time for the page to be display.

Gmail Beta: the revolution of the previous two mail services. Even though it enters the market last, it has captured a lot of user with their intuitive design and large disk space! (The first to introduce 2GB of space) Similar to Google webpage, their interface is neat, clean and simple. No gimmick. It is extremely easy to use and extremely fast (time lag between switching emails or folder is extremely short! The shortest between the three until yahoo and micro$ decided to roll out their own beta version). Another innovation in the mail service is the introduction of internal search engine which is really useful when you have thousand of emails to keep track of (make possible when 2GB of disk space is provided ^_^) Finding mail has never been any easier!

Without the introduction of Gmail Beta, there may not be much improvement to the current top free email services, so three cheers for Gmail, bringing yet another innovation and creating better technology for mankind. However, micro$ Window Live Beta still has a lot to improve, but I guess that's the reason they call it beta. Beta to do something bout it than being out of business.

Realli nice cool online flash games: a definite guide to pass time during boring office hour.

As mentioned in title, below is link to realli cool flash games (thks to fel and mr yigong for providing the link). It is radically different from most other game. Sales Sales Sales Lelong ahhhhhhhhh..........

Just putting some picture online to show how pathetic our stall was. But I guess a stall without decoration is a stall without gimmicks, cause we got pretty good sales by the end of the day ^_^. Besides offering ridiculous low price!!! My Sales cum marketing cum boss generated most of the income for the past few weeks, leaving me safely sleeping in my car! (I am only driver cum labour cum cashier) My most useful job of the day was buying drinks and food for my boss and act cool staring off potential pervert staring at our beautiful sales personnel.

Thats me finally showing my face just to prove that I can wake up early one.

End of Phase One

Yessss, I have finally completed my Degree, but there's no relief at all, in fact I felt just as stressful; having to sell off all my stuff in Australia. It's bloody time consuming getting rid of cars, furniture and etc. Usually i can only post ads in local universities, on newspaper and internet, then wait at home for phone calls, but heng heng recently I discover setting stall at flea market. This is certainly cheap and fast option. The problem is I have to wake up at 6am!!! The venue is at canningvale flea market and the stall cost only $8 with decent crowd, but its outrageously early. Nevertheless I still forced myself to go… (haha, well u should have guess it, someone is forcing me to wake up) since sales are pretty good if you sell at really low price. However, a lot of people won't give face… they will haggle and squeeze u dry without regards to their behaviors. The whole scenario is as chaos as the SAVING PRIVATE RYAN beach scenes. They can bargain for 50cents lesser when u are already selling like $2. Yes they are vampires, suck u dry. Esp. the aunties and that includes the ang moh. Luckily I am not the one bargaining with them, I always leave it to my trusted associate. Xiao Keai ^_^ and she make the whole thing child's play and I actually feel fun.

Another thing that pump up my stress, is job hunting. Now i dunno if I should stick to my line and become engineer or try something else. It's a really tough decision and I sincerely hope I will have an answer soon (guess pray to guan yin miao still the fastest way, gng to curtin also based on drawing lots at guan yin miao) Well, soon I will have to discard the gullible and innocent self behind and step into cruel society, no more skipping or falling asleep in class, no more lecturer to give tips or friends to burn midnight oil, no more long holidays or 3 days school per week. All this will come to an end, with my freedom creeping away and responsibility gaining weight. I do not fear what may come; it's the uncertainty that's daunting. So many paths and trails and yet so few hints and advises. Like I say b4, drawing lots seems to be the easiest way, if it turn out good, oh gasp, its damm accurate, else just blame on the lots. Last of all, world peace, may the conflict between Israel and Lebanon be solve, they are onli benefiting the arm dealers (u noe who) and bringing their ppl and economy down.

80's babies

I posted an interesting email below. Well its been around for sometime, but its always good to read it again sometime, it realli reminds us of our old days and the generation gap between us and the youth today. Things that used to excite us, have now been taken granted by our younger generation. The same goes to our parents, stuff tat used to excite them, has now become a norm to us.

This is perhaps why the older generation like to boost how tough they were in the past, how life can be so difficult, and how they manage to overcome it, and scold us becoz we take things for granted all the time. Our response are usually annoyed and feel they are too naggy. Its especially true now due to the fast changing technology. Social values and technology just change at such a pace that many ppl couldnt catch up with. Soon we will reach our parents age and soon we will have our own kids, this cycle is bound to happen again, and its our kids turn to remind us how naggy we are.

Its very hard to prevent this, so as a parent, one should be understanding towards their own parents, understand why they nagged so much, and try to tell them u appreciate their advise and admire their ability to overcome the difficulties.

One should also be more understanding towards the kids, coz they simply lack of experience, try to understand their needs, what is happening ard them, treat them as buddies and ask them bout their frenz, advise them but not the naggy way, listen to them and dun always make negative remarks or scorned at their innocent way. Always remember u have been stupid and innocent as well, and u dun like it when ppl laugh at u. Last but not leasts, no one ever say its easy to be parents, just go and ask ur parents and u will noe.

P/S: watch the moive "I not stupid too", it realistically reflect how selfish and how insensitive we are becoming.

Valentine's day over...

Valentine's day is finally over! YESSSSS! This is the most dreadful day for mankind. 2 reasons behind this. 1st to guys without gf, they gonna spent another lonely day all by themselves. 2nd, to guys with gf, they either have to spend large sums of money buying expensive presents or they have to prepare romantic events, else his gf will definitely say "u dun love me anymore, u used to be able to do this and tat! " Well that's life in spore.

How I envy Jap culture; usu it's the gal giving chocolates to guys and they actually do it like 14 times a year? (According to reliable sources, David)
For my case, I prefer the romantic option; hand-make present (yes, I'm a bloody poor student) gonna bake heart-shape egg tarts to this lovely gal I just know!

With heaps of experiences in baking egg tarts (total experience level: twice with chao da crust) I noe I will be able to succeed and win that gal's heart with my 爱心蛋塔. In the next post, secret recipe revealed, so watch out for it. To be continue...

Chinese Martial Art 武术

Recent movie "Fearless" 霍元甲, has rekindled alot of wushu frenz passion again. To me, Wushu has played an important part in my younger dayz as well. When everyone is having fun, going clubbing, pubbing, dating and studying, I am training vigorously hoping it would change my life. I was a boy without purpose, without discipline, without a care in the world. I have nothing to be proud of, just another ordinary guy who wished something good will happen to me without me working hard to achieve it myself.

Things started to change after I started practicing wushu. It proved to me that the only obstacles between you and your goal is the amount of effort you put in and the amount of sacrifice you are willing to make.

Now even though I have stopped practicing wushu, I will still apply it to my daily life and challenge myself. To end, I shall use the most famous and overly use phrase “Thou greatest enemy is thyself”.

Gone with the wind...

Its been 9 months since my awful break up with my last gf, suddenly the whole world seems so dark, there's no more motivation for me to achieve anything in life, breathing became harder, waking became a chores, work seems meaningless, life's like a waste of time. I would never have imagine that things would turn out this way for me, I always advised my frenz to take it easy when relationship didn't work out, but wouldn't handle it myself, guess I am scared of being alone, scared of the feeling of no one to confide with, no one to praise me, no one to appreciate my work. I never knew I will become so dependent on my gfs.

Anyway the darkest moment is over now, it reshaped my perception of life, and I finally understand there are more impt things in life then relationship, then myself. I though i understood it but I didn't, till now.

Thks frenz, u noe who u r.
